Continued Education

Continued education workshop. April 24th in Fairfield.

So, you think you can drive 2.0 ?

MEDTSEA is putting together a skills-based day of learning. A closed range course will be created that will cover and test skills in:

  • 3-Point Turn
  • Precision Forward & Reverse Driving
  • Basic Control & Maneuvering

Each trainee will complete the course 2 times. Once for a base line for time and and ability and once distracted. We will use drunk googles or required texting for the second (and distracted) trial.

We will also offer a limited on road verbal distraction course. This will be proctored by an instructor in the car and the driver will be made to follow specific instructions via blue tooth verbal commands. In the state of Maine this level of distraction is legal on road for commercial drivers – does that mean it is safe?

  • Urgent maneuvers – you ask the student to turn, what if they dont?

eye mirrors!

  • We will then break into small groups to discuss what obstacles derail success and our current solutions. You will be asked to share your techniques and the language you use to be successful.
  • If there is a better way to cover a topic, share it.
  • If you have had success with a method, share it.
  • We are all here to learn what we do not know yet.

Lunch will be provided- It will be catered on premises to ensure more time on the course.

We look forward to seeing you in person.

You or your group must bring a state inspected drivers education car to take part in the events.
